GD Nielsen Homes has built on the North Shore for forty years, from our office in North Vancouver. We build ground-up custom homes for the architects and the families who hire us, on the view properties, waterfronts and sloped lots that define building here.
Most of our documented work sits across the water in West Vancouver; the craft and the complex-site competence are the same wherever the North Shore puts a hard lot in front of us.

Working with your architect
Most of these homes began on someone else’s drawings, an architect’s, a designer’s. We don’t design. We build, faithfully, for the people who do. Your drawings are the brief, and your relationship with the client stays yours.
We never substitute a specified product or alter a detail without your sign-off. When a budget needs to move, we look for it in what stays hidden, framing, sequencing, mechanicals, so the money lands where the design lives: the millwork, the stone, the glazing, the light. Every option comes to the design team first.
We credit the architect and designer on every project they belong to.
Warranty and assurance
Every home is covered by BC’s 2-5-10 New Home Warranty, two years on materials and labour, five on the building envelope, ten on the structure, backed by a licensed third-party insurer. GD Nielsen is a Licensed Residential Builder, and our Avid Customer Choice recognition reflects a 100% client recommendation rate.
